Re: Abergavenny /usk 25th Aug

The Greyhound Inn, near Llanllywel just S of Usk is a fabulous place to finish a ride on a sunny day - shade, cold beer and fabulously cheesy chips. Wonder if the landlady would be up for letting us leave the vans in the bottom corner of her massive empty car park?

Trev's new route - July 13th

This was all the fault of the cyclist to the left of the picture who moved completely clear of the track to let the ride past. Riding with complete consideration for other road users and not going head to head with us, not being out of control, not passing on the wrong side, not failing to stop at t...

Re: 5th may sunday

My trial of a 4mm wall thickness inner tube was going quite well with 10+ trouble free rides - till it met a 5" long woodscrew - straight through the bottom and the top. With 12 wheels to protect mousses are not really an option even if my trial of them had gone well, but it didn't. Now have all the...

Greenlaning in the Surrey commuter belt...

...was a strange experience! Easily the most crowded lanes I've ever ridden, some lanes we were filtering through large groups of walkers every 50 yards, loads of horses, cyclists and runners round every corner and rather than having to divert to a petrol station we passed at least 25! Some of the l...

Shobdon 8 - 9 Feb 19

8 of us did the Shobdon figure 8 double loop that Chris B recorded when we rode it with Hereford TRF in 2017. The weather seemed perfect as we drove up but deteriorated rapidly on arrival in the Shobdon area to overcast with occasional blustery showers and patches of sunshine. It was extremely wet u...

Re: Snow Worries

He's not kidding about the alpine lunch - I burnt my forehead slightly! We took it really easy and had a cracking day, a real lesson in low speed throttle control! All the places that are normally difficult were easy but some places (inc on tarmac!) that normally wouldn't even register were really d...

Re: Julian's Ride on 6 January

I thought so as well - When the ride leader has used the correct procedures to inform God of his intentions and to get her to agree to follow a properly suitable Met Office prediction (strangely I can't find this in the new TRF handbook???) it generally turns out well!

Re: Tog Hill To Stroud

Amazingly about half the ride claimed not to have noticed the badly parked car!

To the guy changing the tyre who later stopped with me in Stroud - did you get home OK etc? Sorry, forgot your name so couldn't pm!

Re: Local Ride out this weekend16th Sept

Fastest I've been to Bath and back - spot on ride, lanes in perfect condition, God paying attention to the perfect weather forecast, doesn't really get much better without going somewhere non-local!
