Dorset camping trip

Post by Chris Barrable »

3 of us decided to try riding all day from Bristol to near Bridport on as many green lanes as possible then camping wild overnight then returning a different way on the Sunday.
I did a similar trip some years ago but my girlfriend took the tent etc & I met her at a campsite near Swanage. That raised a few eyebrows as she'd arrived in her Mazda MX5 but didn’t know how to put my tent up so had help from some neighbourly campers. Then I arrived on a dirt bike riding across the field -they must have thought she was having an affair with a "bit of rough" !!

Anyway, this time we were to take our own kit. Basis style.

Route involved quite a bit of road work but some great lanes around Yeovil before getting to the plethora of lanes in Dorset (which I'e ridden separately on a dedicated trailered day out). But this is a mini-overland adventure, me on a CRX350X, Mark DRZ400S, Guff XR400.

Broken clutch cable repaired with solderless nipple at a cycle shop and a snapped drive chain split link were the only issues.
